Deanship of Research and Innovation Programs to Support Research Scholarship programs are one of the most vital tools for advancing education by enrolling students in leading global universities known for their expertise and quality in higher education. They serve as a means of transferring knowledge, experience, and technology from scientifically and industrially advanced nations to support the comprehensive development goals of Saudi Vision 2030. Therefore, these programs represent one of the greatest national investments.

One of the key outcomes of scholarships—beyond enhancing students' academic qualifications and enriching their knowledge and capabilities across various disciplines—is the establishment of partnerships with international scholars who supervised their academic work. However, upon returning, scholarship students often face a lack of research infrastructure to continue the work they began abroad. This can lead to changing research directions, weakening ties with international supervisors, and diminishing their academic distinction in their specialized fields.

This program was therefore established to support returning scholars and offer practical solutions to these challenges.
Expected Outcomes of the Program:
  • Establishing sustainable research partnerships with former international supervisors.
  • Enhancing the research and scientific capabilities of scholarship returnees and current university students through greater engagement with international scholars.
  • Publishing a number of high-impact research papers with international partners in globally ranked journals (Q1 or Q2) with strong impact factors and high citation rates.
